چکیده
The design of the dissimilar metal weld investigated here is aimed at applications in steam generator a sodium-cooled nuclear reactor, with multi-decade lifespan demanding operational conditions. It consists narrow-gap joint between 2.25Cr-1Mo low-alloy steel and an austenitic alloy using nickel-based 82 as filler material. This study focuses on understanding microstructural micromechanical evolution near fusion boundary region nickel during post-weld heat treatment, notably electron probe micro-analysis nano-indentation. difference matrix phase chemical composition two alloys leads to large potential for carbon, which mobile treatment temperature. A number fine-scale characterization techniques were used assess gradient composition, hardness, microstructures across boundary, both as-welded after treatment. complete analysis permits highlight understand main changes occurring opens way their long term service

Influence of Post-Weld Heat Treatment on the Microstructure, Microhardness, and Toughness of a Weld Metal for Hot Bend
In this work, a weld metal in K65 pipeline steel pipe has been processed through self-designed post-weld heat treatments including reheating and tempering associated with hot bending. The microstructures and the corresponding toughness and microhardness of the weld metal subjected to the post-weld heat treatments have been investigated. Results show that with the increase in reheating temperatu...

متن کاملLattice Misfit between Inclusion and Acicular Ferrite in Weld Metal of Low Carbon Low Alloy Steel
To clarify the mechanism of acicular ferrite formation in low carbon submerged arc weld metals of a Ti-B system with different aluminum contents, the lattice misfit between inclusion and acicular ferrite was investigated. The inclusions were directly sliced into thin foils by a focused ion beam device and crystallographic analyses were performed using a transmission electron microscope. These i...
متن کاملModelling the Evolution of Microstructure in Steel Weld Metal
Physical models for the development of microstructure have the potential of revealing new phenomena and properties. They can also help identify the controlling variables. The ability to model weld metal microstructure relies on a deep understanding of the phase transformation theory governing the changes which occur as the weld solidifies and cools to ambient temperature. Considerable progress ...
